We rely on the generous donations and financial contributions made by individuals, groups, families, or local businesses in our community, as well as through our fundraising efforts. Parents are the most important influence in their children’s lives. PEN is a nationally acknowledged grass-roots organization created by parents for parents which focuses on building a safe, caring and connected community by providing free monthly Community Conversations with national and local speakers to engage, educate and inform school-age parents on the important health and well-being topics such as body health, wellness, mental and emotional health, cognitive development, diversity awareness, substance abuse prevention, communication and transition skills, cyber safety, suicide prevention, depression awareness, body health and much more.
Throughout the school year, PEN provides:
9-Month Calendar of Community Conversations / Presentations / Speaking events
Coaching and training to all BVSD parent school team members
PEN publishes and updates the Thrive Parent Handbook as well as the Thrive update monthly newsletters which are sent to all BVSD households
